Year 9-10 Design Technology (Food)


This subject is designed to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in food preparation. Students will learn about the design process and independently develop solutions to a design brief. Students will cover topics such as nutrition, labelling and marketing, technology in the kitchen, food and culture and food wastage.

What do you do?

The activities that students will complete include creating solutions to a design brief, research, food preparation, peer evaluation, and sensory evaluation of food. Students will participate in online lessons.

What skills do you develop?

Food preparation, research, evaluation and time management.




Access to the VSV online learning environment is required.
Students are expected to purchase their own food and have access to equipment and a kitchen.
