Year 7-10 subschool

The 7-10 sub school caters for the needs of a diverse range of students across Australia and overseas who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to access mainstream schooling.

We place a strong emphasis on student support with every student allocated a support teacher who fosters high expectations for learning and provides a caring and supportive environment in which the student can achieve success.

Years 7 & 8 students follow a core curriculum designed to support and extend their creativity, literacy and numeracy. In Years 9 and 10 there are core subjects plus a comprehensive elective program.

Students learn in different ways and our courses endeavour to provide opportunities for students to learn according to their preferred learning style. All materials are available online, on CD and in print form.

As well as providing a flexible and comprehensive curriculum which utilises learning technologies, we can provide programs to cater for individual needs.

Years 7- 8 2009

Year 9 2010

In Semester 1 for 2010, a year 9 student must do the following core units:

English 1, Maths or Maths for Living, Science 1, Humanities, PPS2 (Physical, Personal and Social).

(Science 1 and PPS2 can be taken in either semester)

Two elective units must be taken to complete the semester.

The following table gives you further information about individual units. Please note that some listed subjects are available only in Semester 2.

Year 10 2010

In 2010, a year 10 student must select six subjects per semester (12 for the whole year).

The following subjects are compulsory.

English 3+4
Maths 3+4 (or Maths for Living Core and General or Foundation)
Connecting with Your Future
Science 3

Two elective units must be taken to complete semester 1, and 4 elective units to be complete semester 2.

The following table gives you further information about individual units. Please note that some listed subjects are available only in Semester 2.

Also be aware that some individual units can be taken at year 9 or 10 level.
