tennis stars

Two DECV tennis stars have recently achieved success in State and National competitions.

On Friday, 28th April, Thomas (pictured far right) won his first U18 ITF Singles Title, the “Nicholas Lynch Real Estate Victorian Junior International” held in Mornington. This is Thomas’ second ITF Title win for the year and he continues to be the No 1 U18 ITF player in Australia for his age group. As he’s still 16, this is a significant achievement.

He is now heading to Europe on tour to play ITF’s (both Junior and Pro) where he will compete against some of the top U18 Junior players and Pro players around the world.

On the 5th of April Matthew (pictured in first photo on right) played in the highest Victorian Junior event: the 2017 Victorian State Junior Clay Court Championships, winning both the Singles and Doubles Boys U16 State Titles! (Matthew is pictured second on the right).

The wins are a wonderful achievement for Matthew who at only 14 years of age competed against some of the top U16 Juniors in the country.

Matthew is the No 2 ranked player in his age group in Victoria & the No 3 ranked in Australia. Thomas as mentioned is now focussing on International tournaments only and continues to be the No 1 Australian ranked player in his age group Internationally (ITF U18.)
