DECV Foodbank Drive!

My name is Tahlia and I am in Grade 6 at DECV. I am a passionate 11-year-old environmentalist. I had the privilege of meeting Dr Jane Goodall personally last year. Through the Social Entrepreneurs’ Club at school, I have decided to raise awareness about food insecurity in Australia and raise money and collect food donations for Foodbank Victoria at the same time.

Did you know that…?

  • Foodbank Victoria feed more than 100,000 Victorians every month through its community partners, and more than one quarter of those fed are children.
  • Due to Foodbank’s partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, farmers and the government, the money we raise will be multiplied by eight in terms of food value! For example: $200 raised is equivalent to $1,600 worth of food that Foodbank can purchase directly from the source.

At DECV there will be food collection boxes in the staffroom, café and at reception. Posters will be displayed on the boxes outlining which non-perishable food and non-food items you can donate.

There will also be a Foodbank donation tin at reception and in the café. Donations of any size are more than welcome as every cent counts. Donations $2 or more are tax deductible and receipts can be arranged. Donations can be made at reception and your details will be recorded.

Thank you for your support, and remember, every donation counts!
