There are a number of common traps students can get caught in when struggling with stress, anxiety or other mental health challenges. Recognising these common thinking errors allows us to support students in avoiding the traps or getting unstuck if they find themselves caught in feelings of powerlessness or despair that can follow. We can foster increased resilience in students by helping them to see the traps for what they are and learning how to get themselves free when they get caught.
