Business Management Excursion to a Galaxy

A group of Year 11 Business Management students, along with their teachers, Wendy Smith and Mike Pearson, visited the Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne’s CBD, on Friday, 7th September. The aim of our visit was to observe the marketing strategies employed by businesses to attract customers and to collect a range of relevant marketing data.

One of the highlights of the excursion was our trip to the Samsung Galaxy Studio in Melbourne Central. This was set-up to promote the new Galaxy Note 9. The studio transports customers through a range of interactive experiences and is a fun way to try out the very latest mobile innovations. The marketing staff were very helpful, explaining in detail Samsung’s marketing strategies for the new phone. Mike and the students particularly enjoyed an exciting 4D virtual reality experience with motion sensor chairs and studio quality sound.

Another highlight was a visit to Haigh’s Chocolate’s store in the Block Arcade. After quizzing staff about Haigh’s promotion and social responsibility strategies, the students were rewarded with free chocolates – a great marketing technique enjoyed by all!
