Teaching and learning programs

All teaching and learning programs are developed at the Distance Education Centre for use within the Victorian Department of Education and Training environment. Students may be involved with the DECV in a variety of ways.

The DECV can offer fulltime schooling across all P-12 levels for students who cannot otherwise engage in regular school attendance.

In many cases, a student may be enrolled for a set period with the DECV and then return to regular schooling.

Students in regular schools may be able to study a single subject at the DECV if they do not have access to the subject at their regular school.

Increasingly, the DECV is developing programs that respond to specific needs in the community. New support and learning frameworks mean that new programs are now being developed. More information can be found under the Programs menu link.

Online environment

The DECV offers a secure, integrated online environment for enrolled students and their teachers. All students can access the decvonline once they have been registered and given their indvidual password.

The online environment provides access to courses onlline as well as facilities for discussion forums, chats, communication and work submission/feedback. The environment is managed and monitored by the teachers responsible for the students, and student access is controlled by enrolment levels.
