Delivery Options

Curriculum materials for students enrolled at the DECV come in a variety of media.

Students may choose to receive materials via CD-ROM, print-based booklets, or by accessing courses online.

Many subjects have additional media such as CDs, audio tape and videos/DVDs that enhance and support individual learning. At some levels, recommended texts or other materials need to be purchased.

All students are assigned an individual teacher, and student work is submitted directly to the teacher via mail, email or the web.

Online delivery

Subjects can be accessed by students via the web in a secure environment using Janison Solutions Toolbox as a delivery platform.

When students are enrolled, they can log on and view/download course materials at their own pace. There is also provision for accessing enhancement materials, direct teacher emails, chats and forums across different subjects involving other students.

At some levels, interactive online content has been produced, and is being trialled for those students with access to relevant technologies.

Print plus

All courses can be received via print-based booklets, often with additional media such as audio/visual material enhancing the core curriculum.

Most courses are structured in weekly lessons with suggested hours per week given for studying. Generally there are two mailed booklets per semester per course.

In most cases, students work through a week's material, and submit required tasks at the end of the week either by mail or email.

CD-ROM delivery

All courses can also be received via CD-ROM.

CD-ROMs are generally produced at different sub-school levels, and contain all the materials for studying 8-9 weeks of a course.

This medium also allows for the inclusion of other enhancement material.
